I thought I was going to end up skimming or closing out this video early, but this video was very well edited. I was hooked on each play back to back without feeling bored. The audio also was well balanced too and didn't have to worry about the next play being too loud or too soft. Just like what drummer386 said a couple months ago.. "Awesome job!!"

what I find impressive about this type of compilation is that these are instances where the athlete was consciously processing events, being aware, and exercising willpower (reminds me of the Michael Jordan documentary), rather than most sports reels where they're just operating on pure reflex/instinct/training or something statistically improbable happening by chance... wonder how many videos someone had to sift through

@sebas Stein Nope, you can see there were only 3 seconds left in the game and they were down by 2 points, so making the foul shot wasn’t going to do them any good. He threw it quickly off the rim to catch people off guard and get the ball right back for the shot. And he executed it perfectly.

How does a baseball get lodged into a leather glove so tightly a professional athlete doesn't have the strength to pull out in a reasonable time? I mean I get he nailed it straight too him, but the physics are incredible for that to occur.

2 ヶ月 前
David Rouse
David Rouse

Because they hit the ball harder than the pitchers throw. I don't know Ryan Smith if you ever had the pleasure of catching a baseball at over 100 MPH. The ball getting lodged into the glove happened twice in this video, so the physics isn't that incredible.

Yeah not really, baseball gloves have openings in them that are decently big. A fastball that was pitched at 90ish mph then hit back into the glove at 90ish mph can easily get lodged into a glove if caught in the right spot. Ive seen it happen in my games.

@Christopher Heckman by "forcing" I mean the kicking team is giving no choice other than to kick it. As opposed to a punt on 4th down where they could go for it on 4th they don't have to kick.

ヶ月 前
Christopher Heckman
Christopher Heckman

@Clayton Courtney It's the closest thing to an answer that I've gotten so far, and was probably an argument that was brought up in 1923. The explanation for the 10-yard rule is about what I figured. I'm not sure about a kickoff "forcing" the kicking team to give up the ball; if so, then there should not be any way for them to get it back right away!

2 ヶ月 前

@Chris Stoecker As a Yankee fan, Paul O’Neill was my favorite player growing up, and pretty much the only favorite player I’ve ever chosen in any sport. He expected a lot out of himself and didn’t hide his anger when he came up short; he wanted to come through in every big spot, and I love him for it. One of my top 5 favorite sports memories was Game 5 of the 2001 World Series when the crowd started chanting his Paul’s name in the 9th inning, knowing it was his last home game. They gave him the send-off he deserves. My brother’s favorite player was Bernie Williams. And now that I’m in full nostalgia mode, I’m gonna go relive my childhood fandom.

2 ヶ月 前
Chris Stoecker +1

Hell no that was all frustration/anger on that one. I can't say it was specifically that play but he was moving up my list of favorite players before he got to the Yankees. O'Neil was all intensity all the time. I think I've seen him smile about 3 times in 30 years. As much as I didn't like the Yankees I absolutely loved Paul O'Neil and Bernie Williams

2:57 Ben Simmons hadn't stepped in bounds yet when he touched the ball. Should be turnover to the Clippers. You have to establish yourself in bounds to touch the ball after coming from out of bounds. He caught the ball before he had even touched either foot in-bounds. In fact, I am pretty sure his left foot is still touching out of bounds when he catches the ball. The Ref was caught off guard as bad as the Clippers. On the next play, look how hard Bledsoe works to get both feet down before he touches the ball.
